The final gathering of folk@canowindra for 2013 will be held this Sunday, November 24, from 4-6:30 at taste Canowindra (Ferguson St). It’s been a wonderful year of live music & poetry, with a great range of feature acts, bringing a lot of enjoyment to all who have come along. Even the kids playing on the lawn outside love venturing over to listen to the music, and some of them have even shared a song or a poem with us!
We’re particularly pleased to finish off the year with the return of an old friend, Lucy Lehmann, and her new band (and family)… The Wildflowers! The Wildflowers are Andy Baylor and Lucy Lehmann. Andy, described on ABC radio as “a living treasure”, is a master on fiddle and guitar of all folk styles, and even has a Masters in Cajun music. Lucy is a novelist by day, and by night, a thumb-picking yodeller. The Wildflowers play country classics mixed up with their own co-writes, including a couple about the central west, which they will be sure to play at Folk@Canowindra.
There will also be plenty of Open Mic acts, so feel free to contact Nerida Cuddy to organise a spot (0429 048 603). Entry is by donation (for the feature act). Come and enjoy a great relaxing Sunday arvo of cultural enrichment.
