folk @ canowindra … 28th july

Tony Stuart is a recent arrival in the Central West and plays fiddle, mandolin, accordion & piano. He has enjoyed being a part of the local music scene, gradually making contacts & friends through music. His musical influences are varied, ranging from Irish & Scottish fiddle, traditional Australian dance music, American folk and more. In the last few years he has played in various local sessions, bluegrass & bush bands, as well as  bush music & classical orchestras, and church groups. For a while he lead the Canberra mandolin orchestra and is keen to make the possibilities of this instrument better known.

At Taste Canowindra in July Tony will showcase the mandolin and some of its flavours; from America to the Mediterranean, from Bill Monroe to Vivaldi. You can also expect a selection of his favourite fiddle tunes & songs.

As usual, there will be an open mic for accoustic musicians & poets, a donation box for the feature act, and a warm & friendly atmosphere!  All enquiries to Nerida Cuddy (0429 048 603).
